Ordering

How does this website work?

AllThingsComics.com offers its users a mix of pre-order items and current in-stock items.  

Pre-order items are available to order until the date listed on each item.  That date is usually a few days before the final order cutoff date, which is the point in time that publishers need an accurate count of guaranteed copies that will be sold of each item.  Barring any cancelations from the publisher or distributor, any pre-order items that are ordered any paid for before the cut-off date, will be set aside for you and will ship to you based on your preferred shipping method.

In-stock items are items that are either currently in-hand and ready to ship, or are still available from the main distributor, and can ship within a few days.  

How are my comics protected?

All individual issues include bags and boards at no extra charge, and all comics will be pre-loaded into their bags.  

Will my comics all be MINT?

We are collectors ourselves, and we will strive to provide only the best condition items.  However, while most items should grade at Near Mint or better, please understand that some items are not even produced at mint condition, let alone being subjected to handling at the printer/producer, distributor, and shipping companies along the way.  What we can promise is that once an item is received by AllThingsComics, and until it is shipped to a customer, all items are considered part of our “collection” and will be treated with the utmost respect, care, and handling.  This includes wearing gloves while packing comics as to prevent finger oil from transferring to any paper products!

Some back-stock and items aquired through second-hand means, may not be in new condition, and may have general “shelf-wear”.  Any item in this category will be noted as such in the item description.

How do variant covers work?

All individual orderable covers are offered for sale and pricing is based on the number of copies required to be ordered to obtain each cover.

If a comic is offered with multiple covers, but only one order-code is provided by the publisher, then the variant covers will be filled at random.

Additionally, the cover images shown for each item are provided as-is by the publisher, and the actual artwork/cover may be different.  Occasionally publishers will issue preliminary artwork to act as a placeholder until the final art is completed, which may be after the final order cut-off date.  Other times, publisher might not release a cover at all, and sometimes publishers accidentally switch the promotional images.  AllThingsComics makes every attempt to display the most accurate information, but in the end, we’re at the mercy of what is provided to us by the publishers and distributors. 

Am I guaranteed to receive everything that I preorder?

Unfortunetly, no.  A pre-order is only a commitment to a publisher to purchase a particular item.  And while the vast majority of pre-order items are released, there are times when publishers are unable to produce an item, based on any number of given reasons.  If this happens to an items that you have pre-ordered, AllThingsComics will refund your purchase price.

When will my payment method be charged?

You will be charged at the time that you place your order.

Can I cancel my order?

If the final order cutoff date has not passed, then that item can be cancelled from an order.  But once that date passes, then AllThingsComics is committed to purchasing those items, and so are you.

Can I return an item?

In general, no.  Due to the nature of this industry, we are unable to accept returns.  But there may be certain situations where items may be returned.  Please email us at: customer.service@allthingscomics.com to discuss your individual situation.

Shipping

When will my order ship?

Orders will ship based on the shipping method chosen at the time of checkout.  Customers will have the choice of weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly shipping for pre-order items, and immediate or delayed shipping for in-stock items.

How will my order ship?

All orders are packaged in oversized sturdy cardboard boxes, which allow ample room for padding and protection.  All items are packaged to withstand the rigors of travel, so that they arrive to you how they left our facility. 

We are currently using a combination of Fed-Ex, UPS, and USPS to ship orders to our customers, based on shipment weight and delivery location.

How does pre-order shipping work?

During the check-out process, you will be prompted to choose a shipping option, weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly.  Weekly shipments will be sent out on the first, second, third, and final weeks of each month.  Semi-monthly comics will be shipped after the second and the final release of the month.  Monthly shipments will be sent after the final release of the month.

How does in-stock shipping work?

If an “in-stock” order is placed, you will have the option to either ship the order immedietly, or to have the order added to your next pre-order shipment.  In-stock items will generally ship within a day or two of placing an order.  If additional stock is required from our distributor, then shipping could be delayed up to a week.

Help!  An item is missing or damaged in my shipment!

Send us an email (customer.service@allthingscomics.com) within 48 hours of receiving your order.  Please include pictures of any damage.  We will be happy to replace any items should the damage warrant a replacement, and if replacement stock is still available.
